Great Cappadocia experience

We had a great tour. Our guide, Mehmet, was fantastic, explaining everything and taking us to the best viewing spots. The highlight for me was the Zelve Open-Air Museum. I loved wandering through the ancient cave dwellings and seeing the unique rock formations up close. The views were stunning, especially from Uchisar Castle. I also enjoyed the pottery workshop. A super interesting day. Highly recommend this tour.

Helene
This tour is worth it

We saw so many interesting places in just one day; this tour was definitely worth it. Our guide was excellent, friendly, and professional. Without him, we wouldn’t have understood much of what we saw. The views were beautiful, the fairy chimneys were incredible, and we took tons of photos. We had lunch in Avanos, tried our hand at pottery making, and bought lots of souvenirs. Lunch was delicious, transport was comfortable, and everything was very well organized. An unforgettable experience.

DESCRIPTION

Red Tour Cappadocia

EXPLORE CAPPADOCIA’S RED TOUR ROUTE

Spend a full day discovering northern Cappadocia’s most famous sights. See the region’s highlights, from rock castles and fairy chimneys to historic cave villages, with a knowledgeable local guide. Pickup and drop-off in a comfortable vehicle are included, so you can relax and enjoy your experience.

UCHISAR CASTLE - THE HIGHEST POINT IN CAPPADOCIA

Visit Uchisar Castle, carved into Cappadocia’s tallest rock formation. Once used as a defensive lookout, this natural fortress is filled with tunnels and chambers carved over centuries. The rock was carved into homes, storage rooms, kitchens, chapels, and escape tunnels, forming a small vertical village. Families lived there for protection, using the height to watch for danger and moving safely through the tunnels. From the top, enjoy wide views across valleys, fairy chimneys, and the surrounding landscape.

MONKS VALLEY (PASABAG)

Walk among Cappadocia’s famous mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys in Monks Valley. This valley was home to hermit monks from the 4th to 11th centuries, who carved small homes, chapels, and caves into the rocks to live and pray. Some chimneys have two or three rock caps. Many of the caves are open to explore, showing how nature and early monastic life shaped the valley.

ZELVE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

Explore the abandoned cave village of Zelve, where homes, churches, and workshops are carved into the rock. Once a thriving village from the 9th century until the 1950s, it offers a glimpse into Cappadocia’s past. Walk through its narrow streets and see old frescoes, inscriptions, and traces of early Christian life preserved in stone.

DEVRENT VALLEY & LOVE VALLEY

Discover Devrent Valley, where rocks form shapes of animals, people, and other unusual figures. Spot camels, snakes, and other surprising formations. Walk among Love Valley’s tall, unusual fairy chimneys, one of Cappadocia’s most distinctive landscapes. These towering formations were shaped over centuries by erosion, creating dramatic scenery.

AVANOS POTTERY WORKSHOP

In Avanos, Cappadocia’s historic pottery town along the Kızılırmak River, pottery has been made for over 4,000 years using the river’s red clay. Watch skilled artisans at work, learn traditional techniques, and try shaping clay yourself. Enjoy a relaxing lunch, browse local shops, and experience the town’s charming atmosphere.
